Getting ready to do a degree

Access modules from The Open University (OU)

These introductory courses have been designed to help people find out what it’s like to study by distance learning and at higher education level.

Access modules will give you a taste of a subject area, refresh your learning skills and build your confidence. They are ideal if you want to take a degree in the future but don’t have the necessary entry qualifications, especially if you want to see what it’s like to study by distance learning through the OU.

You complete an Access module over 30 weeks and need to allocate around nine hours a week to your studies. Courses are taken using OU-quality online materials, but you are also allocated a personal tutor who will support you over the phone and provide written feedback.

You can find more details on Access modules, including funding available for certain students, on the OU website.
