What is it?

A Degree Apprenticeship it typically level 4-6 to gain an honour degree or level 7 to gain the equivalent of a masters degree. It is a way to gain an honours or masters degree while being employed and trained at the same time.  Click to find out which Degree Apprenticeships are on offer.

Note that funding changes (2026): From 1 Jan 2026, government funding for Level 7 is restricted to apprentices aged 16-21, or under 25 with an EHC plan/care leaver status.

Where could I study?

Apprentices split their time between university study and the workplace and are employed throughout – gaining a full bachelor’s or master’s degree from a university while earning a wage and getting real on-the-job experience in their chosen profession. Sometimes you can attend a further education college who may work in partnership with a university to deliver Degree Apprenticeships. 

How long will it take me?

A Degree Apprenticeship takes 3 years + to complete depending on the pace of study.
