Managing money, work and life

Managing money

Learning to manage your money when you are studying requires planning. You'll need to learn to budget and live within your means - this way you'll find it much easier to support yourself without leaving with a huge debt.

Keeping a work/life balance

Keeping a good balance between home life, study and work (either part -time or full-time) is really important.  Managing this effectively will mean you are less stressed, are able to fulfil all your commitments without feeling guilty and can really enjoy what you are doing.

Make time for your family

The most successful relationships are those that make spending time together a priority. Try and ensure you have time with your family as well as for studying. You need to share your hopes and dreams, as well as your fears and failings and keep in touch with what's happening in each others lives.

Don't be a perfectionist – it’s okay to let your standards slip for a while if you have an important deadline to meet.

If you're going through a particularly demanding time and you're lucky enough to have people around who are willing to help, let them.
