Changing career through learning

Doing a course and gaining a specific qualification can be a good way to help change career. The important thing is to decide what career you want to do and carefully research the best route to getting what you want.

Find out information about the qualifications needed for specific careers through the National Careers Service or search sector skills bodies' websites to see what jobs, skills and qualifications are needed in each of the 23 vocational sectors.

Also, check to see what job opportunities there are in your chosen area so that you know there is a good chance of a job being available when your have completed your qualification.

Find out about employment trends in your area.
